Elbit Systems has been awarded two contracts for its MUSIC directed infra-red countermeasures (DIRCM) multi-spectral airborne self-protection systems family, the company announced on 3 August.
The first contract is a follow-on contract for mini MUSIC systems from an undisclosed Asian country for its Black Hawk helicopter fleet. This is the second contract to be issued by the customer in 2015.
The second contract is for the company's C-MUSIC DIRCM systems, ordered by an undisclosed European NATO member country. Elbit Systems will deliver the systems ordered under both contracts in 2015.
Elad Aharonson, general manager of ISTAR division, Elbit Systems, said: 'We are proud to be awarded these new contracts. While the Asian customer's decision to acquire more DIRCM systems for its Black Hawk helicopters attests to the customer's satisfaction with the previous order, the new contract with the European NATO member country extends the number of platforms that will be equipped with our systems. We see a growing global demand for our DIRCM systems, which we believe address a strategic need for our customers.'
