Companies submit bids for Polish helo tender

Initial bids for Poland's anti-submarine and special forces helicopter tender have been submitted, Poland's Armament Inspectorate has announced.

The requirement for a total of 16 helicopters has seen interest from helicopter heavyweights Sikorsky, Airbus Helicopters and PZL Swidnik (part of Leonardo Helicopters).

According to the inspectorate, all three companies submitted bids for the special forces tender, although Sikorsky has chosen not to put in a bid for the ASW requirement.

That means that PZL Swidnik-Leonardo and Airbus Helicopters will fight it out for the contract to supply eight ASW platforms. The likely platforms will be the H225M and the AW101,
