Germany to send WS-61 Westland Sea King helicopters to Ukraine
Germany has committed to sending Ukraine six of its 21 retiring WS-61 Westland Sea King multirole, amphibious helicopters.
Boeing has announced partnerships with ten German aerospace suppliers as it looks to strengthen its German industrial ties.
Boeing, which is offering the H-47 Chinook for Germany’s STH heavy-lift helicopter competition, has reached agreements with AERO-Bildungs, Aircraft Philipp, CAE Elektronik, COTESA, Diehl Defence, Honeywell, Liebherr-Aerospace, Reiser Simulation and Training, Rockwell Collins, and Rolls-Royce.
Should the H-47 be selected for the programme the companies will provide a range of support and training services, including aircraft maintenance, aircrew and technical training, and research, development and technology solutions. Additional companies are expected to join with Boeing for collaboration on communication and mission systems integration.
