AUSA 10: Sikorsky unveils the Raider X2

Sikorsky is confident that its prototype light tactical helicopter, an advancement of its X2 Technology demonstrator aircraft, will be flying in time for any request for proposals (RfP) for the US Army’s Armed Aerial Scout programme.

The company is self-funding two prototypes of the Raider X2, which also has the company designation of S-97, to prove the military application of the rigid, coaxial rotor configuration.

At the Association of the US Army’s annual conference in Washington DC, Sikorsky displayed a mock-up of the Raider X2.
