Germany to send WS-61 Westland Sea King helicopters to Ukraine
Germany has committed to sending Ukraine six of its 21 retiring WS-61 Westland Sea King multirole, amphibious helicopters.
Boeing and the AH-64E Apache industry team have launched an initiative to engage with Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) companies as it targets the nation's Kruk attack helicopter programme.
The Apache industry team includes General Electric, Longbow, Raytheon and Lockheed Martin. As part of the initiative, a two-day workshop was held in which more than ten PGZ companies from Poland took part to form partnerships for the Kruk programme. The Boeing AH-64E Apache helicopter is a candidate for the programme.
During the workshop, Boeing and team members discussed plans to help PGZ companies develop new capabilities and provided an overview of the Apache helicopter and possible collaboration projects with each team member.
Phil Schneider, director of international strategic partnerships for defense, space and security, Boeing, said: 'We are focused on comprehensive engagement with PGZ and its companies to enhance Poland's defence industry, create jobs and meet Poland's national security needs.
'Polish industry's strong track record of innovation offers opportunities to expand our industrial relationships and find new ways to put the expertise of the Apache team to work for the benefit of Poland.'
