Germany to send WS-61 Westland Sea King helicopters to Ukraine
Germany has committed to sending Ukraine six of its 21 retiring WS-61 Westland Sea King multirole, amphibious helicopters.
AgustaWestland will work with Havelsan to jointly market and sell training products and capabilities under a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the companies and announced on 9 June.
The MoU, signed by Sadik Yamac, CEO of Havelsan, and Ross Kelly, AgustaWestland head of region for Turkey, will focus on developing simulation and synthetic training systems and training centres for a wide range of customers, including the Turkish government.
Yamac said: ‘Havelsan wishes to provide simulation and synthetic training systems, including information management solutions, in support of the various rotorcraft platforms purchased by the Turkish government and international defence and government customers. This MoU is an important step towards achieving our aims in the rotorcraft training systems market.’
