Watchkeeper crash probe begins

The UK's Defence Safety Authority (DSA) has begun an inquiry into the crash landing of a WK450 Watchkeeper UAV on 2 November.

The British Army confirmed to Shephard that the DSA deployed on the evening of 3 November to investigate. The aircraft suffered extensive damage but it is not yet known if the UAV will be repairable.

An army spokesperson said that given the 'manifold possible explanations' for the incident the ministry could not explain the reasons for the crash, which occurred at Boscombe Down airfield near Salisbury Plain.
