IDEX 2011: General Atomics targets UAE for Predator deal

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GAAS) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the International Golden Group (IGG) as part of the United Arab Emirates' desire to generate 'premier ISR capability'.

Signed on 16 February and officially completed at IDEX in Abu Dhabi a day later, the MoU will allow GAAS to market its Predator XP UAV primarily to be brought into service with the UAE armed forces. The agreement will also consider further interests in the wider Middle East.
