Farnborough 2012: Insitu announces Asian contracts

Insitu, a Boeing subsidiary, has announced two new major contracts for its Scan Eagle UAS in Asia as well as an upgrade to the aircraft's payload capability.

Speaking at the Farnborough International Airshow, Ryan Hartman, SVP for business development, said that the company had recently completed integration of the Scan Eagle aboard three of the Republic of Singapore Navy's (RSN's) Victory-class missile corvettes. He also said that the company had signed a deal with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) to supply the system to Japan.

The former deal was signed about 18 months ago, according to Andrew Duggan, MD of Insitu
