Zephyr soars into the commercial market
The Zephyr UAS is set to enter the commercial market at the end of 2018 as Airbus Aerial touts the platform as part of its commercial services offering.
Airbus Aerial, a commercial business unit set up in May 2017, is looking to offer the Airbus Defence and Space (DS) high-altitude pseudo satellite (HAPS) platform as a long range, persistent coverage platform.
Additional new platforms would be built based on customer demand and Airbus Aerial would essentially be a customer for the Zephyr, Jesse Kallman, president of Airbus Aerial, told Shephard at the Commercial UAV show in London.
