The Philippines is expecting a delivery of additional Insitu ScanEagle tactical UAVs later this year, although the acquisition still needs to pass through various agencies before they can be handed over.

Speaking about the deal recently, the Secretary of National Defense, Delfin Lorenzana, said: ‘Eventually, they told us that they are now ready to deliver. So they might deliver to us the ScanEagle type sometime in September or October.’

After being approached by Shephard, Insitu declined to comment on Philippine utilisation of the ScanEagle after it emerged last month that the country was already a user.
