Farnborough 2018: Nightwarden flights to continue from Textron’s Blackstone site

Textron Systems Unmanned Systems is to move its Nightwarden UAV flights to its Blackstone facility near Richmond, Virginia, to continue preparations ahead of any future sale of the platform.

The site, which also accommodates the Aerosonde system, will likely host daily flight operations for the Nightwarden, which is searching for its first customer after its unveiling at the Paris Air Show in 2017.

In an echo of a statement made by Textron officials earlier in the year, David Phillips, VP tactical mission systems, expressed ‘belief’ in the platform and its capabilities in what is a ‘relatively small’ system.
