Eurosatory 2018: Customer supply unaffected by Hirth acquisition, says UMS Skeldar

15th June 2018 - 13:00 GMT | by Richard Thomas in Paris

The supply of unmanned systems engines by Hirth Motors to its customers will continue assured a senior official from UMS Skeldar, which in May acquired the Germany-based company.

Operating from a research, development and manufacturing facility at Benningen, near Stuttgart, Hirth’s two-stroke engines serves a range of unmanned systems manufacturers, including RUAG, MartinUAV and Denel.

UMS Skeldar moved to audit and complete the acquisition of Hirth inside six weeks, with the move securing the supply of engines to its own V-200 UAV as well as a range of other platforms in the market.
