AMST is displaying its new night vision imaging solution, Nightfox, for training aircrews at I/ITSEC, where Shephard learned that the company already has the system implemented with some European air forces.
The Nightfox virtual image generation system (VTIGS) allows crews to use actual night vision goggle (NVG) hardware and see Infrared (IR) lighting showing them the experience and effects of wearing NVGs before getting into an aircraft.
‘The system is operational with the German Air Force for night vision training for their A400M pilots,’ Douglas Vine, night vision consultant at AMST said.
