I/ITSEC 2015: Mentally armouring future soldiers

The US Army is working with the Marine Corps and Navy on a cross-service working study to determine the mental readiness of military personnel through a variety of training methods.

The programme, titled the Squad Overmatch Study, aims to integrate training for advanced situational awareness, resilience and stress management into existing methods for the modern warfighter.

Additionally the aim is to increase casualty survival rate by better preparing soldiers for the scenarios they might face.
