The Australian Department of Defence (DoD) has initiated a program to procure a fleet of light attack military rotary-wing aircraft to support force components from across the Special Operations Command (SOCOMD).
On 25th September 2018, the DoD’s Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) issued an RfI announcing its intention to acquire a “fleet of light helicopters to enhance the [Australian Defence Force] Special Operations Aviation Capability as advised in the 2016 Defence White Paper.”
According to the RfI, under Project Land 2097 Phase 4, the selected helicopter must comprise a commercial or military off-the-shelf solution that is already in operational
