Romania to invest in coastal defence
The Romanian government is preparing to start a competition for a new mobile coastal defence system to protect its maritime interests from potential threats on the Black Sea.
The procurement process is expected to begin shortly and will be divided into two stages, first preliminary evaluation and second the systems will be compared, clarified and negotiated until the most attractive offer is selected.
According to local media, the Romanian government expects to sign the contract for coastal defence systems by the end of 2018 with payment running up to 2023. The deal has an estimated cost of at around €137
