Insight: China’s fishermen moonlight as warriors
On 20 June a South Korean court sentenced the captain of a Chinese fishing boat to 18 months in prison for illegal fishing. The Korea Coast Guard (KCG) seized his boat 22km east of Yeonpyeong Island in April, after he ignored orders to heave to and attempted to flee into North Korean waters.
