DoD awards overseas Aegis support deal
Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems has been awarded a $731.13 million FMS contract to provide in-service support services for the Aegis weapon system plus associated hardware and software.
If all options are exercised, the total value of the deal will rise to $750 million.
Services to be provided by December 2024 include systems engineering; ship integration and test engineering; computer program maintenance; integrated logistics support and planning; and ‘in-country support for multiple international partners employing Aegis’, the US DoD announced on 5 January.
Aegis FMS customers covered by the contract include Australia, Canada, Japan, Norway, South Korea and Spain.
