Zhuhai Air Show 2018: Naval air defence gun becomes a landlubber
Attracting attention on the China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) stand at Airshow China 2018 was a large JRVG-1 self-propelled 76mm gun weapon system mounted on a 10x10 chassis. Debuting at the show, it is designed as a mobile air defence weapon.
Painted in a distinctive pixellated blue pattern, the JRVG-1 weighs approximately 30t and comes from the CSIC stable via cooperation between three of its subsidiaries.
The first, Jiangsu Automation Research institute (JARI), is overall integrator of the weapon system.
The Zhengzhou Electromechanical Engineering Research Institute (also known as the 713th Institute), meanwhile, provides the 76mm Gatling-type gun.
