US Army becomes ‘army of preparation’
After 12 years of conducting counter insurgency and stability operations in Afghanistan and Iraq the US Army will shift its focus in the future to the full range of military operations, Gen Robert Cone, Commanding General US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), told delegates at the Association of the US Army’s Winter Symposium and Exposition.
‘We will move from an army of execution, with a focus on resourcing the fight and near term readiness, to an army of preparation which will balance near and long term readiness and invest in the future,’ said Cone.
