US Army awards JLTV EMD contracts
The US Army has announced the award of three contracts for the engineering and manufacturing development (EMD) phase of the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) programme.
AM General, Lockheed Martin and Oshkosh Corporation were awarded EMD contracts for the JLTV project, which aims to replace many of the US military’s aged HMMWVs with a lightweight vehicle offering greater protection, mobility and transportability.
JLTV is a joint service programme between the US Army and Marine Corps with the army designated as the lead service.
The contract awards follow the Department of Defense's formal approval of the programme to enter the EMD
