US Army to attain laser weapon vehicle by 2022
The US Army will have its hands on a 100kW laser weapon system as part of the High Energy Laser Tactical Vehicle Demonstrator (HEL TVD) programme by 2022, this comes after a contract award to a team of three industry partners for the build and testing of the new weapon.
Dynetics, along with its partners, announced the contract award in May 2019 but said that official award was made on 2 February as part of a contract extension following an already two-year concept and development path.
