Ukraine orders three SCTVs
Textron Systems Marine and Land Systems will supply three Survivable Combat Tactical Vehicles (SCTVs) to Ukraine under a contract with SpetsTechnoExport (STE) announced on 1 February. STE is a subsidiary of Ukroboronprom (UOP).
The vehicles are being acquired by Ukraine as part of a wider effort to improve the survivability and mobility of its light tactical vehicle fleet. The country has an emerging requirement for increased security and mobility for Ukrainian security, defence and law enforcement agencies.
The SCTV features numerous protection and mobility enhancements, including a fully-armoured, monocoque v-hull crew survivability capsule designed to provide the highest levels of protection technology available in its class of vehicles. Additionally, engine upgrades and suspension enhancements provide for improved performance and mobility.
The vehicle is equipped to handle a variety of missions including fire support, command and control, reconnaissance, engineer support and troop transport.
