SOFINS: New guided support weapon unveiled
French company AA/ROK has developed a concept for the new SSA-1108 Joint-Forces Light Support Guided Munition (MIGALe) at the SOFINS exhibition, near Bordeaux.
The MIGALe is a lightweight surface-to-surface missile designed for use by the French military within the framework of the Scorpion network centric warfare equipment programme.
As Patrick Gaillard, general manager of Turgis et Gaillard Industrie – the parent company of AA/ROK - explained to Shephard, the idea behind the MIGALe concept is to take advantage of the interconnectivity between the different components of a Scorpion force to be able to carry out stand-off attacks.
