Russian Airborne Troops to get the Sprut-SDM1
The Airborne Troops branch of the Russian military is set to get its first Sprut-SDM1 self-propelled tank destroyers in 2020. According to the branch’s Commander-in-Chief, Col Gen Anatoly Sertyukov, the state testing of the new-generation weapons systems is set to begin by the end of the year.
The programme will be completed within 12 months in order for the first production Sprut-SDM1s to enter service in 2020.
