Russia increases tank mix for Syria
A bizarre mixture of obsolete and modern armoured vehicles is being sent by Russia to its Syrian allies.
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and different militias loyal to Syrian president Bashar Assad are taking deliveries of significantly more equipment, particularly since the beginning of 2017, but it is from a variety of Russian stocks.
Neither Russia nor Syria has officially released information about these deliveries but a large amount of information on social media allows much of this materiel to be identified.
