Rheinmetall receives Fieldguard order
Rheinmetall Air Defence has received an order to supply four Fieldguard 3 measurement systems to Avibras of Brazil for delivery to two unnamed international customers, the company announced on 6 July.
Under an order totalling $23.48 million, Rheinmetall will deliver three systems for one customer country and one system for another. Rheinmetall is acting as subcontractor to Avibras for its ASTROS 2020 multiple rocket launcher programme.
Fieldguard is an active fire control system which measures the flightpath of projectiles in order to assure maximum precision during target engagement. The system can cover distances of up to 100kms.
Delivery of the systems will be complete by the end of 2019.
