Germany’s Puma armoured infantry fighting vehicle (AIFV) have completed hot climate trials, it has emerged.
Two of the new AIFVs were flown to the UAE on 27 August to engage in a series of mobility and live firing tests that ended in late October
The qualification trials were aimed at assessing Puma’s ability to cope with desert conditions and these followed a series of cold weather tests which were conducted in Norway in 2012.
The German defence procurement agency (BAAINBw) dispatched some 30 personnel from its centres of excellence for automotive and armoured vehicles (WTD41) and for weapons and ammunition
