Philippine M4 rifle woes
Initial deliveries of a new rifle to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) have been found to be defective.
This has delayed their distribution to AFP personnel until the problems were rectified.
The issues are with the R4, Remington’s version of the well-known M4A1, related to defective rear sights. Remington has now fixed the issues and the rifles will have to undergo ballistic testing by the AFP before being issued.
The (AFP) is acquiring 50,629 assault rifles from the Remington Outdoor Company.
