New Zealand picks up pace with vehicle replacements
The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) is buying a batch of 4x4 all-terrain vehicles (ATV), as well as forging ahead with plans to acquire more than 40 protected mobility vehicles.
Both vehicles replace a number of platforms currently in the nation's fleet, some of which have been described as 'no longer adequate' for current tasks.
Defence Minister Ron Mark confirmed the acquisition of the MRZR ATV from Polaris Government & Defense on 29 June. He noted, ‘The MRZR will replace current quadbikes and other small vehicles and provide improved mobility, safety and versatility to our rapidly deployable mobile forces.’
