New tank calibres to increase lethality
Rheinmetall is set to work on a path to upgrade the lethality of main battle tanks rather than begin work on a clean sheet design.
Despite some reports suggesting that the company was working on a new main battle tank in the form of the ‘Leopard 3’, the company heavily denied this although it said it had considered some conceptual designs.
At the company’s Land Forces Symposium it emphasised how firepower must be increased through a series of upgrades to the lethality of its large calibre weapons.
