MDM 2016: Marine Corps unveils new operational concept
Implementing the new US Marine Corps Operational Concept is not for the light hearted, according to the Commandant of the service Gen Robert Neller.
‘If you’re nervous about it, join the club,’ Neller said during his presentation before this week’s Modern Day Marine event in Quantico, Virginia.
Neller said that the new concept was built on a foundation of earlier service and joint force concepts, including Expeditionary Force 21 and Cooperative Strategy 21.
‘We went back and looked at [Expeditionary Force] 21 and we decided that we needed to focus more on how we were going to operate,’ he said.
