LSSA acquisition to boost Denel
Denel stands to boost its land systems design and manufacturing capability following BAE’s announcement of an agreement to sell its Land Systems South Africa (LSSA) business.
The acquisition complements Denel’s existing ground forces equipment business, Denel Land Systems (DLS), nicely. DLS is primarily a weapons and turret house, but also has the contract to manufacture the Badger infantry combat vehicle for the SA Army.
The LSSA acquisition gives DLS a vehicle portfolio comprising a potential mechanised infantry vehicle or heavy armoured car (RG41), several MRAP types (RG-31, RG Protector, RG35) and smaller protected vehicles (
