Lithuania howitzers kick off year of military modernisation
The Lithuanian Armed Forces recently took delivery of two upgraded Panzerhaubitze 2000 (PzH2000) howitzers from Germany. This delivery kicks off a busy year of military developments, according a top government official, who released several key dates for 2019 to Shephard.
The upgraded howitzers were delivered to the Lithuanian Armed Forces General Romualdas Giedraitis Artillery Battalion on 14 December. The government plans for a further sixteen howitzers to arrive by the end of 2019.
Speaking to Shephard, the Lithuanian Vice Minister of Defence, Giedrimas Jeglinskas, further confirmed that the first of 88 Artec Vilkas Boxer infantry fighting vehicles,
