Lithuania boosts JLTV export prospects

Lithuania’s Ministry of National Defence has announced its intention to purchase the US Army’s new Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV), marking yet another export success for the vehicle before it even enters US service.

The MND said in a press release on 7 November that Minister of National Defence Raimundas Karoblis had met US Defense Secretary James Mattis in Helsinki, Finland, and notified him that the country’s Defence Resource Council had decided to move forward with the purchase.

The country is planning to purchase at least 200 vehicles and expects deliveries to begin around the 2021 time frame. Firm
