Land Forces 2016: Land 400 – opportunity knocks
The biggest acquisition programmes currently under way for the Australian Army fall under the Land 400 umbrella for new armoured vehicles, and these offer great potential for vendors to supply subsystems, as Shephard discovered at Land Forces 2016 in Adelaide.
One example is missiles for these armoured vehicles, with three types in the mix: Javelin, Spike and MMP. MBDA has not formally announced any formal tie-up for Phase 2 with Rheinmetall or BAE Systems, but it believes its fifth-generation offering is a strong contender.
