Mine clearance vehicle for Ukraine SSES
The Kremenchug Automobile Plant has built a special heavy mine clearing vehicle for the Ukraine State Service for Emergency Situations (SSES) department in Lugansk, it was announced on 21 April.
The vehicle is based on the KrAZ-5233ВЕ 4х4 off road chassis with load carrying capacity of up to 2 tonnes.
The vehicle will be used for mine clearing on roads, in forests, fields and populated areas in the territories of Donetsk and Lugansk. It will carry equipment, major calibre ammunition and personnel to the IED site.
Powered by a Еuro-5 emission standard-compliant 335hp turbocharged diesel engine, the vehicle is fitted with C-IED equipment including a steel winch and HIAB X-CL 8-2 crane for handling IEDs from a distance of 15m, in addition to other mine-clearing tools. Its cab comes with bullet-proof glass and PZSА – 4 armour.
