IDEX 2021: Escribano targets Middle East with new remote weapon stations
Spanish company Escribano has conducted the first firing tests of its gyrostabilised Guardian 30 remote-controlled weapon station (RCWS), mounted on the Dragon 8x8 VCR wheeled combat vehicle (pictured).
To date, in-motion and static tests have been conducted. Shephard Defence Insight notes that a previous version of Guardian (called Guardian 2.0) was evaluated by the Spanish Army in 2019 for the 8x8 VCR fleet.
Guardian 30 was displayed for the first time at IDEX 2021 with its Middle Eastern export designation (RAAD 30).
