IDEX 2011: MAWS bounces back in Middle-East
ATK has revealed plans to conduct 'local vehicle demonstrations' of its Modular Advanced Weapon System (MAWS) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) next year.
Speaking to Land Warfare International at the IDEX exhibition in Abu Dhabi, Dan Olson, vice president and general manager of ATK Integrated Weapon Systems, said while details had yet to be confirmed, the UAE was pursuing a requirement for such a capability. He added that tests would most likely include the use of NIMR or HMMWV vehicles.
