IDEF 2015: Otokar displays final Altay MBT
The final prototype configuration (PV2) of the Otokar Altay MBT for the Turkish Army is on display at the IDEF exhibition in Istanbul.
The company is showing the qualification vehicle because testing is now in the final stages.
Oguz Korbut Kibaroglu, tank system engineering manager at Otokar, told Shephard that four prototypes were built: two for preliminary mobility and firing tests at the Şereflikoçhisar firing range; and two final variants (PV1 and PV2) that completed construction at the end of 2014 for the qualification tests.
He noted that engineering tests have already been completed. The Altay MBT shown at IDEF
