IDEB 2010: Czech Republic considers MPV buy
The Czech Republic’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) is considering an urgent operational requirement to equip its Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams in Afghanistan with mine-protected vehicles (MPVs).
According to defence sources, the MoD is looking to procure between 20 and 30 4x4 vehicles for operations in Central Asia as part of the NATO International Security Assistance Force (ISAF). However, with the country’s parliamentary elections due to take place between 28 and 29 May, sources told LWI that any final decision could take anything between four to six months to make.
