France is increasing efforts to renew the small equipment of its armed forces, with the MoD reporting the delivery of the first batch of new O-NYX night vision goggles (NVGs).
Based on the Thales Minie ultra-compact NVGs, the O-NYX systems will replace the Lucie model currently in use in the country.
According to the French MoD, the O-NYX has improved resolution and will allow troops to better progress in the dark, improving their perception of the environment and their mobility.
Thales intends to provide 3,179 goggles this year out of 3,519 requested by the French Directorate General of Armaments. The
