FN Herstal has introduced a new tactical buttstock for its combat proven FN MINIMI 5.56 light machine gun at Eurosatory on 13 June.
The tactical special forces (SF) buttstock is adjustable in length to 5 positions and for cheek rest height to 6 positions, and features a convex butt plate.
The lightweight buttstock can be better adjusted for shoulder firing to meet the needs of special forces missions.
The new development follows the introduction of the Mk3 version of the FN MINIMI, available in 5.56 or 7.62, in late 2013. Any FN MINIMI 5.56 or 7.62 already in service can be upgraded partially or completely to the new Mk3 version.
