Eurosatory 2018: French Army vehicle increase to get green light

French lawmakers are expected to give final approval in the coming weeks to increase the country’s defence budget and pump even more money into the army’s Scorpion modernisation, including boosting the number of vehicles to be procured.

Officials from the French DGA procurement agency told Shephard that the new Military Planning Law (LPM) – covering 2019 to 2025 – will be passed ‘in June or early July’.

The LPM has already been approved through both the National Assembly and Senate and will return to the lower house in a few weeks for the final green light that will see
