Eurosatory 2010: Belgian special forces to get new patrol vehicles
Belgium’s Special Operations Forces (SOF) are to receive new open-top, long range patrol vehicles following a previously undisclosed contract with armoured vehicle specialist Carat Defense.
Speaking to Land Warfare International at Eurosatory, Paris on 15 June, company director of global marketing, Vito Covalucci said a prototype had been completed in the last month in response to the Belgian requirement, based on the chassis of the Mercedes- Benz Unimog 1300.
‘Final numbers are up in the air but we are expecting the requirement to comprise anything between ten and 15 vehicles,’ Covalucci told LWI.
