DSA 2016: Thinner vest, robust protection

DSM Dyneema have launched a vest with anti-stab technology for the body armour market.

The company which invented and manufactures Ultra High Molecular Weight PolyEthylene (UHMWPE) are utilising the fibre to provide protection from multiple threats.

The fibre branded as Dyneema is 15 times stronger than ‘quality steel’ the company says.

The vest for soft armour applications will be able to protect against sharp weapons including knives and blades is being demonstrated at DSA 2016 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
