DSA 2016: MD Helicopters forges Malaysian alliances
MD Helicopters capitalised on its sales success to Malaysia by forging agreements to support the army’s six future MD 530G light scout helicopters.
Although the sale occurred in late 2015, a signing ceremony was conducted at DSA 2016 for the RM321 million ($82.6 million) contract. Local company Halaman Optima has been appointed as prime by MD Helicopters.
The helicopters will be used by the Air Corps for operations in Eastern Sabah. Craig Kitchen, chief commercial officer of MD Helicopters, confirmed that Malaysia wants two units by December, and the remaining four in May and June of 2017. ‘We are on
