D&S 2013: Black Widow lacks bite
Thailand’s Defence Technology Institute (DTI) has said it will work with UK-based Ricardo on the next phase of development of its Black Widow Spider 8x8 armoured vehicle, despite doubts about the viability of the programme.
DTI exhibited a mock-up of the latest configuration of the 8x8 at Defence and Security 2013 in Bangkok, although it is clear that work remains at an early stage with key technologies yet to be developed.
