Denmark selects Piranha 5 for new APC
The Mowag 8x8 Piranha 5 from General Dynamics European Land Systems has been selected to meet the Danish Army’s requirement to replace its current APC fleet with a new vehicle offering improved protection and mobility.
The project is the largest army acquisition programme in decades and is the first order for the Piranha 5. The Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO) will order a minimum of 206 vehicles although this is expected to increase.
